Everything You Need To Know About Purchasing Broadway Producers Show Tickets
Al Terry

The Broadway production of The Producers opened at the St. James Theatre on April 19th 2001. The original musical comedy has had audiences laughing ever since. Based on the Mel Brook's classic movie of the same name which debuted in 1968 tells the story of a man set out o write the most horrible screenplay ever written "A Springtime For Hitler" the playwright most certainly lives up to it's name. In 2001 when the awaited show hit Broadway it ran away with Tony Awards, 11 of them to Best Musical was on top of the list making the show a huge success and tickets hard to come by. Broadway Producers show tickets may be a tough find in New York but with a little knowledge and work they can be purchased at a discount, even half off sometimes.

The St. James Theatre itself is the best place to start for locating your Producers tickets. The box office always sells the original tickets at the original cost. Being early is always the key to finding a great seat at an unbelievable price. Theaters in New York offer the chance to purchase tickets months in advance and if you are able to call the day they go on sale chances are you will be able to get a seat for a desired date and show time.

Many people are unaware of the day tickets are released for sale and it can be difficult to plan months in advance. Most times a trip to New York is a bit last minute, even if it has been planned for a month in advance the theater probably sold out all the tickets when they went on sale, especially for such huge shows and productions as The Producers. Showing up at the St. James Theatre on a slow or off night will increase the chances of not only getting a Producers ticket but even at a discount. Mondays are notoriously slow for Broadway because all of the people living in the city are back at work and only able to attend a Friday or Saturday show. Many times the theater will not sell out the Monday show and have tickets on hand. They want to sell the theater out and often begin selling the tickets at 50% off to draw in a crowd. The disadvantage to this is that there is a chance you will not be able to get a ticket. Showing up very early and asking the theaters ticket sales agent will give you a better chance.

New York theaters provide different forms of seating which are undesirable to many. Obstructed view, partial view and standing sections are available from most theaters. Each of these options has distinct features which may or may not be acceptable. Each option always has a deep discount and chances for availability are high, even for popular shows on busy nights.

Partial view Producers tickets will provide a half off ticket with a seat but some or even most of the stage will be out of view. This is a deal breaker for many but sometimes is your only option. The view will be either behind the stage itself sometimes or have parts of the theater in the way. Standing sections of New York Theaters provide a perfect view of the entire stage and sound quality is excellent as well. The prices on these tickets are always cheap and available, although not as abundant as a partial view ticket. The only thing that will be missing from the experience is a seat, you will have to stand throughout the entire performance.

The best plan for going to events in New York is always to plan early and buy direct. This can be difficult to do and New York City event tickets can reach unimaginable prices. Broadway ticket brokers understand that the visitor is in need and are able to gain great profits by purchasing tickets in bulk and selling them to last minute consumers in need. Ticket brokers also will provide a discount on the tickets, so if you are forced to make a purchase from them, ask if any promotions are available. Try to take a gamble and contact them hours before a show, you are more likely to be able to bargain with them and get closer to a reasonable price. Purchasing last minute Broadway Producers Show tickets will be tough, however it is not impossible to get a great seat at an outstanding price especially if you have some flexibility.
