The first way to save money is to be careful about which types of food you order. Steak and shrimp will of course be more expensive than chicken. If you want expensive items like shrimp or lobster, serve them as an appetizer instead of as an entree. Number two on the list of ways to save money is to watch out for how much food you order. Of course you don't want to run out of food but it would be horrible to be throwing plates of uneaten food away at the end of the night also. A good caterer should be able to help you order just enough. Also be sure to provide plenty of filler foods like bread and rolls. These will tend to fill your guest up quicker than some of the more expensive items. The last way to save on catering is to set up a cafeteria style food line. Why pay for waiters when you can just set up a buffet style line. With a buffet style food line one or two servers will be able to handle the food service. Saving money on manpower is perhaps the best money saver of all. Hopefully these tips will help you plan a successful party for the least possible cost. Just remember to do your research and find a quality caterer to help you. Learn about private catering at the authors website on catering services.
