Cookware: The Top 10 Worst Cookware Habits Of The 21st Century
James Brown -

There are people who have perfect hygiene habits. If there was a reward to be given, they would be one of the runners up, if not the winner. Perfume smells beautiful on a person; even on clothing it smells nice. But food that tastes and smells like food is a complete turnoff. Yes, a person is supposed to take extra pride in their cooking by making sure that they wash their hands as often as possible. But use an all natural lotion, preferable an un-scented lotion.

There are people that use too much scented hand lotion or body lotion. Your prized lasagna should smell like onions, peppers, garlic and oregano. It shouldn’t smell like Calvin Klein’s famous perfume, Escape. Those who continue to use bad cooking habits such as slabbing on several coats of lotion will find their eating guest wanting to escape your dinner table.

These good cooking habits can be used in a public environment. A person who works in a fast food restaurant or bakery is required to wear gloves. Should one wear gloves when handling large pots and other types of cookware? The proper thing to do is to remove the gloves and then handle large pots and pans. Pots and pans can easily slip out of the hands because of the slipperiness of the gloves.

After cleaning or handling cookware such as pots and pans, do not use the same gloves. There are many people who work in the fast food industry who hand food and money with the same gloves. Many do not realize that money has plenty of germs to cause illness. When handling money, remove your gloves.

Saving time while cooking

The worst thing for a cook is a cluttered kitchen, especially when you are cooking for a group of hungry people. Wise cooks clean and store their cookware as soon as they are finished using it. When the dinner party is over, they only have a few things to clean and store away. Those cooks who do not fit in that category become discouraged and they allow their pots and pans to pile up. When they finally decide to clean their cookware, they are left with caked foods and oils. If they cleaned as they finished cooking, they wouldn’t have to use their nice eating utensils to scrape of their prized baked macaroni and cheese. So, the best thing to do is to quickly clean cookware, don’t allow your cookware to pile up with ‘gunk and grime’.
