Do it yourself slideshows
Gil

In today's slideshow software marketplace, there are many choices for users to select a program that will create an animated slideshow using your pictures, some special effects and some music. The question is what do I do with my slideshow once I created it.

Some users want to create slideshows that they can post online, on myspace or other social networking sites. A myspace slideshow gives users a quick way to share their pictures with lots of people that regularly look at their profile. Other people may want to post their slideshows on other social networking sites or even on Flickr or Kodak or a myriad of other places that let users or members post slideshows online. Then we have the users that wish to create a slideshow they can share with their families by publishing the slideshow to a CD or a DVD, perhaps emailing the slideshow or even creating a screensaver they can share with friends and family.

There is also a new feature that is being featured by some of the slideshow software industry which is a photo album. Not only can you create a slideshow, but you can make it look like a traditional photo album that people can view online or on a CD/DVD. They also give people the ability to print select images for the slideshow photo album, so grandma can have a picture of her grandchildren she can show off. In addition, some of the slideshow programs give you the ability to build your slideshow or slideshow photo album using some kind of theme, with animated images going across the screen, fun little graphics on the page, different borders and colors and much more.

The most important thing to look at when selecting the program is what types of files does it create? The most common and easiest file to view online in a flash file. The flash plug-in is installed on almost all the computers, it is free and lets users view files with animation and sound. In addition, flash files are small so it does not take a long time for users to view the slideshow. Also look for programs that let you drag and drop your pictures into the slideshow, this makes it easy and fast and gives lots of control. These two features will make your experience of building your next slideshow fun and memorable.

Good luck!
