Hot Trends In Perfume: Green Tea Fragrances
Cathy Peterson

For the past few years, there has been a lot of buzz about green tea. Merchants promote all kinds of green tea products, from the logical drinks to skin care products and other items. Green tea is full of antioxidants, believed to help prevent cancer and slow aging, and has also been shown to help lower cholesterol and get rid of headaches. Now the green tea trend has hit the fragrance world as well, answering consumer demand for products that are fresh, clean, and natural. If this is a trend you’ve embraced also, here are a few green tea fragrances you might want to try.

Bvlgari’s Green Tea Fragrance is a unisex, but flowery scent that has been around for almost ten years. With a distinctly Asian character, it combines the scent of green tea with jasmine, citrus, and rose. It also has spicier undertones of pepper, coriander, and cardamom. It is available in lotion, cologne, eau de parfum, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and deodorant.

Released in 1999, Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden is a flowery scent also, and blends the scent of green tea with lemon, rhubarb, and peppermint. Though it is recommended as a day fragrance, it also has more rounded tones of oakmoss, mush, and amber. It comes in eau de parfum spray and several different body treatments. There is a leg and foot cream, a cooling body gel, and thicker lotions. It is also available in hygiene products like shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and deodorant.

TerraNova Sakura and Green Tea, as its name suggests, is a combination of green tea and the Japanese sakura cherry blossom. Its fresh, invigorating scent is good for spring, the same time the cherry blossoms bloom. If you’re looking for an aromatherapy experience, try out their bath salts, which infuse the fragrance in a soothing mix with rice bran, cherry bark, and ho wood. In addition to a cologne mist, it also comes in body lotion, a thicker hand cream, massage oil, and body wash.

Demeter has a Green Tea fragrance that it recommends not only for personal use, but also for spraying on bedding and other fabrics around the house for a fresh, clean scent. Demeter specializes in unique scent sprays for the home and body, and their repertoire includes a new Play-Doh scent (to celebrate the toy’s 50th anniversary), as well as watermelon, pumpkin pie, and chocolate chip cookie.
