First off, there’s Adobe’s own Photoshop tips website, which you can find at adobe.com/products/tips/photoshop. The selection of tutorials here is not that wide, however, and the writing style can often be a little dry. A good resource for basic, starter tutorials is psworkshop.net. While the site lacks more advanced material, it has quite in-depth explanations of each tool and what it can do. For fans of About.com, you can find material on Photoshop at graphicssoft.about.com and graphicdesign.about.com. The advantage of about.com is that all the material on a particular sub-site is written by the same expert (they call them About.com Guides), giving it a consistent tone and quality. If you want new tutorials all the time, good-tutorials.com is a good place to go, with hundreds of Photoshop tutorials being added every day. They are well-categorised and easily searchable. Once you get good enough, you can even submit tutorials here yourself, and other members will vote on them – the ones with the most votes get featured on the main page. A good way to find links to the very best tutorials out there on the web is to use Google and tell it exactly what you want, but that doesn’t always turn up any results. Another option that is rapidly becoming more popular is to use link-tagging services such as Yahoo!’s del.icio.us. Going to del.icio.us/popular/photoshop will show you which links are currently the most popular across the whole web for photoshop. It works for anything else, too – just replace the word Photoshop with whatever you’re looking for.
